David Bowie To Celebrate His 50th Birthdaywith A Benefit Concert And Some Very Special Guests

JANUARY 9 AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN; PROFITS GOING TO SAVE THE CHILDREN

As DAVID BOWIE prepares to release his new album Earthling February 11 on Virgin, he will celebrate his 50th birthday January 9 with a very special benefit concert at Madison Square Garden with profits going to Save The Children. Special guests who will be joining Bowie for this auspicious event (held one day after his actual birthdate on January 8) include Frank Black, Foo Fighters, Lou Reed, Robert Smith of The Cure and Sonic Youth, plus opening guests Placebo. These artists will all be joining Bowie onstageperforming songs from throughout his acclaimed career.

Tickets go on sale Monday, December 16 and are priced at $35.00 and $50.00.
