Get A Free Copy Of Sunday Times Cd Rom

We all go through it, The Sunday Times…

After much TV and radio fanfare, The Sunday Times CD-Rom, The Month, is with us. More than anything, it’s a visual feast for Bowie fans, with images such as the above Frank Ockenfels shot (grabbed from the CD-Rom) gracing both the front of the Culture magazine and the CD-Rom envelope itself.

There is some sound and vision on the CD-Rom that has not yet been made available to BowieNetters, and the aforementioned Culture magazine has four pages of editorial that includes pieces by Robert Sandall and Mark Edwards, which you can read online by clicking on their names.

Even if you haven’t been able to purchase the publication yourself this morning, you can make up your own mind about the content of the CD-Rom by making use of the following information:

FOR SEPTEMBER ONLY, A FREE TRIAL
To order a free copy of The Month Sep 03 email your name and postal address to tmcustserv@sunday-times.co.uk, or call Customer Services on 0044 (0) 207 860 1132. While stocks last.

This obviously means that we won’t need to run the competition for copies of the CD-Rom that I mentioned in a previous story. Please bear in mind that this is a UK number, and that there will be nobody around to assist you until Monday.

Footnote: 09.03.03
It seems that this offer wasn’t open to overseas applications after all, and in fact, it would also appear that the CD-Rom is now out of stock altogether anyway.

I have managed to get a few copies that I’ll distribute first-come, first-served to the first fifteen BowieNetters that send me their name and address… Those of you that already e-mailed me needn’t worry, as I have already reserved you a copy.

More Reality Rehearsal Footage For Members

But I never wave bye bye… *

BowieNet members are in for another special treat today, with the release of more footage from the BowieNet rehearsal studio spy-on-the-wall. This stuff gets better and better …certainly in terms of its comedic value at least… watch out for that big ending!

This latest footage really is priceless stuff and I think you’ll all agree that it’s a privilege to be able to get a glimpse of David Bowie at work and play like this.

For non-BowieNet members, I’ve again pasted anagrams of the three songs in this week’s video-montage below, so that you can work out exactly what it is you’re missing. Conversely, you can sign-up, come back and click on the image above.

01 Gentle holy suite
02 Inkwell arrest
03 Demon lover

* Watch closely, he does actually!

Another Track On The Poughkeepsie Media Player

“Is that Blammo up there? No, it’s the Goodyear Blimp!”

Remember it’s true, dignity is valuable…

We’ve posted another audio clip on the Poughkeepsie media player… Click on the image above, or go here, to have a listen to this most moving Bowie song.

The track should be live now, but if the Labour Day gremlin strikes again and you can find no addition to the player, then just stick the first track from Lodger on your hi-fi, while playing the in-between track audience noise from David Live or the BBC Radio Theatre CD, or some such thing.

That should give you the general idea for the time being!

Vote Now For Reality Show Requests

A couple of songs from your old scrapbook…

Obviously everybody here is well aware of David Bowie’s Reality presentation in London on September the 8th. Well, if you’re not actually going to be at the show, or at one of the many cinemas showing the performance, there’s still a way you can have a little influence on the proceedings.

David wants you to select your favourite songs from a list of seventeen, and the three most popular from that list will be performed during the request section of the show on the night.

All you have to do is click on the image above to take you to the voting page, where the procedure will be further explained… but please bear in mind, you are voting for songs you want to hear performed live, not necessarily your favourite songs… if that makes any kind of sense?

Final September 8th Give-away

Can’t we give ourselves one more chance…

This is the give-away for the final batch of fifty places for what is pretty much a BowieNet show (seeing as the great majority of those attending will be BowieNetters) on September 8th at the Riverside Studio in Hammersmith.

I’m sure you all know how this works, if not, go check out the rules I posted on Thursday. (08/21/03 NEWS: SEPTEMBER 8TH GIVE-AWAY STARTS NOW)

STILL getting e-mails from people who clearly haven’t read the rules properly. If you send an e-mail from a non-BowieNet account, and you don’t supply your user name either, you will not be attending on September the 8th …so please double check before you hit return!

So, for your final chance, (presuming you haven’t already won a place) e-mail me now at TotalBlamBlam@davidbowie.com with a subject line of “September 8th – Give-Away Five”. Your e-mail will work whether you include the quotes, or you don’t.

This fifth and final give-away ends on Monday morning (September 1st) at 10:00am UK time. Good luck, and pop back at midday on Monday for the last fifty winners.

New Snippet On Reality Jukebox

I built a wall of sound to separate us…

The latest addition to the Reality Jukebox, is the particularly “thrusty” title track, Reality.

You can go and have a listen to the ninth exclusive preview from Reality right now by clicking on the image above, or by going here.

Bowie V Moss In Latest Q

Just like the films…

In stores today is the latest issue of Q magazine and it’s jam-packed with Bowie stuff. Apart from a fantastic piece featuring an interview and photo session of David and Kate Moss, (based on Michelangelo Antonioni‘s classic 1966 film, Blow-Up) there is a great review of Reality, and an ad for the album and tour on the back cover.

We’ll bring you more, and some of the pictures from the shoot in our next magazine round-up shortly.
