Seattle Pix In Vt Plus Set List And Hnb Surprise

“Hi, my name’s Earl Slick and these are my good buddies, The New Christy Minstrels!”

What made me feel so bad?

A Reality Tour reached KeyArena in Seattle last night, and despite not feeling so good, David certainly didn’t show any evidence of ill health. Gene Stout of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer was there to review the show, as was Dan DeLong who took some cracking shots to accompany Dan’s review, which is headed: Bowie gives his best, showcasing an extraordinary career. The piece can be read in full here, but, in the meantime, here’s an excerpt.

Even if David Bowie wasn’t feeling his best, he gave his best. The 57-year-old rock star, in his second Seattle concert of the year, offered a powerful and inspiring performance Wednesday night at KeyArena that served as a showcase for his extraordinary career. The show was a blend of new songs and past hits with fresh arrangements that made them sound entirely new.

Bowie told the near-capacity audience he wasn’t feeling all that well, and explained away a series of awkward gyrations midway through the two-hour show as a “performance malfunction” caused by a sense of malaise. But if he hadn’t said anything at all, perhaps no one would have noticed. His energy and self-assurance told another story.

Sporting a mop of blond hair and dressed in tight pants and a purple, crushed-velvet jacket with tails, Bowie looked very hip despite his more than three decades of rock stardom.

We’ve updated the Virtual Ticket section with more beautiful shots from Erik, the pic above being a jolly good example.

Here’s the officially confirmed 28-song set list from a rather excited HNB, who has furnished me with a remarkable photograph of his own… read on after the set list if you’re interested in his CRAP:

As I say, Handsome Nick B has had his pictures back from the 24-hour lab including a rather interesting picture from Kelowna. Not immediately obvious in the version above is what looks like a green serpent type creature… could it be the fabled Ogopogo? Nick admits he hadn’t noticed the legendary monster when he took the shot, but that’s no indication of anything to be honest.

Anyway, I had the USAF check the picture out, and they their findings seem to confirm that the picture is the real McCoy and doesn’t appear to have been tampered with. They even provided the enlargement below for further inspection. Over to you dear reader… what do you think?

A Reality Tour continues tomorrow at the Berkeley Community Theatre.
