Bowie Part Filmed For Extras

Slinky secrets, Hotter than The Sun…

I know I will have unnecessarily excited some of the more gutter-minded among you with that headline…But the truth is possibly even more exciting than the image I may have already conjured.

On page nine of tomorrow’s edition (Thursday) of The Sun newspaper in the UK will be a full-page feature headlined: ‘Bowie is Starman in Extras’, which gives away some of the details of the second series of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s Extras. Thankfully the details are sketchy as this one really will be worth the wait when it airs later this year.

We first hinted at DB’s involvement last year (11.09.05 NEWS: EXTRAS – WILL HE OR WON’T HE?) with a direct quote from the man himself: “This may happen, yes. But it’ll depend on what the weather’s like next year.”

Well, I awoke early yesterday morning (5:00am!) to already glorious sunshine for what turned out to be an hilariously funny day of filming at a secret location in Hertfordshire.

I will be posting a report with more pictures from the shoot (like the one above) in due course, and I can confirm one thing that The Sun has got right, that David performs a new composition for the piece.

More than this I can not say, for fear of violent reprisals. Steve Merchant is a bloody big bloke!
