Hunky Dory Print On Sale Now With Bowienet Discount

As the merchandise exchanged and money roared…

I know regular visitors to these pages will already be fully aware of this, (02.15.2007 NEWS: LIMITED EDITION SIGNED HUNKY DORY PRINT IS NEXT) but for those that aren’t, here’s the low-down once more.

David Bowie’s iconic 1971 Hunky Dory album cover has been reproduced as a limited edition art print by UK based company, St Pauls Gallery.

The 28″ x 27″ print has the official seal of approval, and has been signed and numbered in pencil by both David Bowie and Terry Pastor.

This beautiful edition of just 195 copies was painstakingly reproduced from the original artwork and has been screen printed with the Hunky Dory type omitted, as in the example above.

All production details are the same as the Ziggy Stardust print, with the actual image area size being 19″ x 19″, within an overall paper size of 28″ x 27″. The image is printed on 330 gsm Somerset Velvet enhanced, with a spot varnish coating the image area.

The colour reproduction was overseen by Terry, and David was apparently very pleased with the result.

You may remember that, including a special BowieNet discount, the Ziggy Stardust print was originally made available to BowieNetters for £637.50, at today’s rate, that’s approx. $1,275 USD.

The few remaining Ziggy prints are now selling for £1,250 ($2,500 USD). So, if you were among the first to buy a Ziggy print via BowieNet, your investment has practically doubled in less than a year.

The new Hunky Dory print is retailing at £795 with a BowieNet discount of £100, so if the Ziggy performance is anything to go by, if you were to purchase a Hunky Dory print for £695 now, this time next year it might be retailing for £1,390 ($2,780 USD).

That outperforms most other types of investment in these shaky times, but having said that…who would want to sell their print anyway?

If you want to get an idea of the size of the thing, you can see BowieNetter Jule holding a framed Ziggy print here.

OK, if you’re a BowieNetter, go here for the ordering page, and enter the code: BOWIE71 exactly as is, as it’s case-sensitive, with no spaces.

If you can’t see the code above, you need to log in first. You may also be asked for your BowieNet username during the ordering process.

Remember, the sooner you order, the lower your edition number will be, making it even more valuable.
