Live Santa Monica ?72 Contest Option 5

I asked for two autographs…

Option 5 is the above George Underwood-designed poster that comes with the limited David Bowie – Live Santa Monica ’72 vinyl.

It’s the same 91cm x 61cm, (36″ x 24″), unfolded poster as in Option 2. But, this differs from Option 2 in that it is signed by both David Bowie and George Underwood.

“Why on Earth would somebody choose Option 2 over Option 5?,” you may ask. “I don’t know…” I’d most likely reply “but they will.”

Stay tuned for what to do next.

Uncut Readers Choose Their Own Bowie Top Ten

These are your favourite songs…

Following on from UNCUT‘s 30 greatest Bowie songs, (04.18.2008 NEWS: BOWIE’S 30 GREATEST SONGS IN UNCUT NEXT WEEK & 04.29.2008 REMINDER: BOWIE’S 30 GREATEST SONGS IN UNCUT) the magazine polled it’s readers for their own favourites.

Perhaps not quite as inspired as DB’s choices for iSELECTBOWIE, but proving beyond reasobale doubt that UNCUT readers have pretty good tatse!

Stay tuned for a few of the celebrity comments regarding David’s music that didnn’t make it to aforementioned UNCUT Bowie special.

Live Santa Monica ?72 Contest Option 3

I like the tee shirts at BowieNet…

Option 3 in our five-part David Bowie – Live Santa Monica ’72 contest is the above limited edition T-shirt only available normally as a pre-order through the BowieNet Official Store.

Come Sunday will this be the item you choose over a signed SM ’72 CD, or a Ziggy poster, or whatever else is yet to come?

Moonage Daydream Less Than Fifty Copies Left

“He’s a very naughty boy! Now, go away! He’s not coming out!”
David Bowie at the Beverly Hills Hotel in October 1972, from Moonage Daydream.

The solid book we wrote can not be found today… (Well, only just)

Genesis Publications have been in touch with news regarding the absurdly beautiful Moonage Daydream object d’art…well, book just seems such an inadequate word for this thing.

Anyway, it’s no surprise that, despite the high price, Moonage Daydream is very nearly sold out now. Here’s the statement from Genesis…

————————————————————————————————————–

MOONAGE DAYDREAM by DAVID BOWIE & MICK ROCK: 1ST JULY 2008

The original, signed limited edition book Moonage Daydream is now nearly sold out. Only 2,500 copies of the book were ever made by Genesis Publications, each signed by David Bowie and photographer Mick Rock, and the publishers report that fewer than 50 now remain.

Featuring the legendary photography of Mick Rock in a handmade, leather-bound volume that The Washington Post described as ?a masterpiece?, Genesis expect to declare the edition as ?sold out? imminently. This is therefore a last chance for Bowie fans to grab this incredible piece of Ziggy memorabilia.

If you have seen the mass-market version of this book, the limited edition is something entirely different. The signed and numbered original is not only bigger, it is finely printed on 14 different art papers, edged in silver foil, and bound by hand in leather and cloth. An incredible portrait of Ziggy is silk-screened and gold-blocked on the cover, and each copy comes in a box covered in a faithful recreation of the fabric David Bowie wore on the cover of the Ziggy Stardust LP. As GQ magazine wrote: ?Few books are this lovingly produced.? Elle magazine described it as ?simply beautiful?.

The last copies are available on a first-come first-served basis at www.Genesis-Publications.com, priced at £345 plus p&p.

————————————————————————————————————–

For those of you that really want the book but feel that the outlay is beyond your budget, you may want to take advantage of the three part payment plan that Genesis Publications offer. £115 per month may be within your reach and you can find the offer on the ordering page.

Live Santa Monica ?72 Contest Option 2

Ain’t that poster love?

See yesterday’s news to make sense of this if you aren’t quite sure what it’s all about.

Option 2 is the above George Underwood-designed poster that comes with the limited David Bowie – Live Santa Monica ’72 vinyl.

“Big Deal!” you may suggest. But, the copy you might win won’t be folded…and you won’t see many of those about.

Perhaps before you do go for this option on Sunday though, you should consider that it measures a whopping 91cm x 61cm, (36″ x 24″) which is a fair bit bigger than the original.
