Win David Bowie's Signed Lyric Folder

A couple of songs from your old scrapbook…

And so on to the last of our five contests to win a signed Bowie item, as promised in the birthday news item below.

As you can see from the pictures here it’s one of those folding A4 folders with the elasticised bits and DAVID BOWIE USED TO KEEP HIS LYRICS IN IT!

David signed it and kindly sent it in for a random contest in 2007 and now seems about the right time to have that contest.

I seem to remember something about him using it in the late 70s early 80s but I will double check and I’ll report back if that’s not the case.

Below is the signature that appears on the inside of the binder which I think reads “best wishes Bo 2007” – I will double check with him, etc.

Now, what do you have to do to be in with a chance of winning…well, as you might think, an item as special as this needs to be earned.

So, considering it used to contain David Bowie’s lyric sheets I thought an appropriate task would be for you to tell us how many songs David Bowie has written.

To make things easier and indeed clearer, we only want you to include songs that are credited solely to Bowie, in other words, no co-written numbers.

Also, every song you include must have been officially released and it must be a studio recording…no live songs.

Only include each song once when it has the same title. For example, there are a few released versions of Space Oddity, but you only need to count it as one song. When you think you have arrived at an accurate calculation, send that number to me here before midnight NY time on Friday January 30th.

We’ve given you a bit longer than usual as this could be a bit of a toughie for some of you. All of the entries that are within 25 of the correct answer will be put in the hat and the winner will be announced here on February 1st.

Usual BowieNet rules apply: Only one entry per BowieNet account per week, and please remember you must enter using your BowieNet e-mail or at least supply your BowieNet user name. If you do neither of these things you won’t be eligible to enter.

Good Luck, kidz…wish I could enter this one actually.
