Admittedly this isn’t the easiest contest we’ve set, (01.08.2009 NEWS: WIN DAVID BOWIE’S SIGNED LYRIC FOLDER) but enough people still entered to make me realise just how desirable David Bowie’s old lyric folder is!

Tell us how many songs David Bowie has written.
To make things easier and indeed clearer, we only want you to include songs that are credited solely to Bowie, in other words, no co-written numbers.
Also, every song you include must have been officially released and it must be a studio recording…no live songs.
Only include each song once when it has the same title. For example, there are a few released versions of Space Oddity, but you only need to count it as one song.

OK, this did create a few queries, which were generally answered in the original question…for example: “Should we include songs written by Jones?”. Sorry folx, no. We only wanted you to include songs that are ‘credited solely to Bowie’.
“Should we include acetates and the like?” Again, no. Every song you included must have been ‘officially released’.
And finally, “Should we include songs recorded by other artists?”. If they were officially released and credited solely to Bowie, then yes.
We then put all of the entries that were within 25 of the correct answer (which we estimated to be around 230) into the hat, and the name of the Lass Insane above was plucked from its depths…it’s a big hat.
And her name? It be Space_Girl.
