Barnes And Noble Review Pt.2

Bowie has posted his next review on BarnesandNoble.com.

Most art sucks

This Month’s Review: “Most Art Sucks: Coagula Art Journal & the Art of the 1990’s by Walter Robinson, Tom Patchett

Here is a sampling of the review:

“Art is art is art. Once you’ve stood in front of it only the un-minded can drift away with no altered frame of reference than the one they walked in with. You like/get it. You don’t like/get it. On rare and sublime occasions ‘love’ comes into play. Ultimately it’s my thing, your thing. But there are always a trillion books straining at the leash to educate, put you right, or more usually, to baffle with art-speak.” –David Bowie

"fly On The Wall" Contest

In conjunction with BowieNet’s official launch of the Lucent 360 degree BowieCam ? we are proud to bring you the “Fly on the Wall Scavenger Hunt“.

Lucent’s mission with this new video technology is to blaze the trail in the creation and delivery of electronically steerable video ? particularly of high-resolution, seamless, 360° video. One of the most interesting features of this technology is that it utilizes Java applets rather then a plug-in.

A preview can be seen at http://www.fullview.com/panoapplet.html. You might even catch Dr. Vic in the lab working.

Here’s how it will work:

Thursday, February 18th, at 8:45 p.m. EST, Dr. Vic will turn off the servers and strategically place 3 or 4 Mystery Memorabilia Items throughout his lab. These items will have some Historical Bowie Significance. From 9:00 p.m. EST till 9:15 p.m. EST, you will have access to Vic’s laboratory to search for the Bowie Items.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to search the room, identify the objects, and e-mail your best guesses to info@davidbowie.com, ALL WITHIN A 15-MINUTE TIME FRAME ! The servers will be shut down at 9:15 p.m. EST.

After we receive your entries via e-mail, we will randomly select 2 winners. Winners will receive an autographed David Bowie CD. We would also welcome any feedback on the quailty and speed of the video.

Good Luck to all.
