This biographical drama focuses on the life of tormented artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Basquiat began his career as a Manhattan graffiti artist but ultimately climbed up to the higher echelons of the art world. This 1996 drama was written and directed by Julian Schnabel, one of the most sought after painters of the 1980’s art scene. Look for great performances all around, including one from David Bowie as Andy Warhol.
