    That’s right. Tony Visconti and Bowie are back at it! This time, the 2 long-time collaborators are working with the up-and-coming New England band called Rustic Overtones.

    Tony, who is currently producing the bands new album, was kind enough to include BowieNet in the upcoming project by sending us this info about the band, how they met, and David’s involvement.

    Bowie will indeed be doing some work with The Rustic Overtones. Check out this special section, and be sure to listen to the 2 encoded tracks. They are quite addicting!

Is There A Dr. In The House?

    This years class of 1999 honorary doctorate and commencement speakers contained some heavy hitters, including the likes of Al Gore, General Norman Schwartzkopf, John F. Kennedy Jr., Henry Kissenger and of course David Bowie.

    Here is a fun article sent in by BowieNet member SpaceBoy. The article (Time Magazine, June 7 1999) mentions some of the more memorable moments from each speech.

Everybody Loves Sunshine

Just a reminder that the film “Everybody Loves Sunshine” can be seen TONIGHT: June 16 on the Sky TV Premier Channel (based in the UK).

This gritty North West of England gangland drama tells the tale of two ex-convicts: one’s struggle to go straight while being thwarted by the other. It was filmed mainly in the Isle of Man.

The film stars Goldie (Godfather of Brit Jungle), David Bowie and Clint Dyer, and was directed by Andrew Goth.

Internet Tonight films a recording session at New York’s Looking Glass Studio, asDavid Bowie records the song written with BowieNet Cyber Song contest winner AlexGrant. The contest drew more than 200,000 entries, and Bowie chose Grant’s songbecause “…it was impertinent, scanned well and was easy to sing.”
