The Return Of Duke 'n' Earl

Earl Slick yesterday

Well this news is best broken by our man in New York, who, for matters of security, shall remain happily pseudonymed; ‘The Spy-In-The- Flight-Case’! Take it away Spy:

Earl Slick flew into NY on Thursday night to take part on Friday in an initial rehearsal for the Glastonbury/NY Festival shows. Wearing his key-note black on black and shades, the ‘Hard-Man of Rock’ ensemble, he tore through ‘Stay‘ ‘Station To Station‘ ‘Cracked Actor‘ and a whole bunch of ‘Goldens‘ as though he had never stopped playing these songs. Then to top it off , he smoothly radicalized into ‘I’m Afraid Of Americans‘.

The rest of the band were wreathed in smiles, Gail commenting, “This is like being inside Living History.” Bowie himself commented, “Wow, is this band hot or what? If people weren’t around in 1974, this will give them a damn good idea of what we were about. You’ve heard the bootlegs, now get the real deal” he grinned.

Bowie and the band, with Earl Slick on guitar, will debut on the 16th of June somewhere in New York City.”

I know the great majority of you will understand the importance of this report, but for the benefit of some of you youngsters out there, (Hi A_Girl and Steve K) go here for a little bit of history.
