DAVID BOWIE brought his virtual world home to reality in New York City, June 19, as he performed for nearly 4,000 fans, press and members of Bowienet, his online community residing at http://www.davidbowie.com. The event, held at the Roseland Ballroom, was in preparation for Bowie’s appearance at the 30th annual Glastonbury Festival in the U.K.; Bowie performed at the first festival in 1970.

As a partner in the collaborative work, Beatnik provided an eMix for Bowie’s “The Pretty Things Are Going To Hell,” weeks before the event. After judging rounds, one fan’s remix emerged as a winner. Fernando Dos Santos claimed the grand prize for his “Jersey Sensibility Mix” of Bowie’s song, attended the concert and had a chance to meet with the artist after the show.
