Alan Cummings will be hosting the San Francisco based show while Sandra Bernhard and Tina Brown of Talk magazine will be presenting awards for Best Weird Site and Best Print/Zine site. The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences chooses nominees and winners from around 800 million websites for 27 categories such as Activism, Fashion and Art. The 350 committee includes Francis Ford Coppola, actress Parker Posey and David Bowie.

Baby Bowie
David Bowie and his wife Iman are expecting their first child in August. The superstar couple married in 1992 have been waiting for the “circumstances to be absolutely right” for having a baby and “didn’t want to be working the first couple of years of the baby’s life” according to Bowie. Bowie said “This is a wonderful time in both our lives.” What do you think the name should be?

DB made an appearance in the August issue of the German GQ. The article showed the 100 Most Stylish Men of the World and David was #17 (#1 btw was another DB, David Beckham). Here is the approximate translation for the caption (in German):

The voting appears done in the infamous VH1 ‘Sexiest Artist Poll‘! And guess whose name appears at the top of the list? One DAVID BOWIE!! It seems safe to say that thanks to you guys and gals, as well as a bunch of TWers and LWWers, DB has won the poll and will be featured in the special featue! Well done!! The Ahn Trio’s new album due out next week features their classical rendition of This Is Not America – a version which Billboard calls “a game take on the haunting theme to the movie The Falcon And The Snowman by David Bowie and Pat Metheny“. The three sisters based in New York play violin, piano and cello on the track which will appear on the EMI release titled Ahn-Plugged.

The clip shows a 9-months pregnant Iman during her photo-shoot with US Weekly, as well as interview footage where she talks about wanting to become pregnant, as well as David’s documenting the pregnancy!

Reeves Gabrels is back making music in the virtual Gaming World. This time, his songs are featured in a game called ‘Deux Ex’. See this clip as reported in the Yahoo! Tech News:

The nightclubs found in each metropolitan area feature songs by guitar-hero and frequent David Bowie collaborator Reeves Gabrels, which handily offsets Deus Ex veering more towards Unreal Tournament’s capacity for super-saccharine lighting effects in these locations than it does anywhere else.
