Queens And Bronx Pictures And Set Lists

“Listen. You may have shaved heads, but I’m wearing the
leather jacket…that means I’m the hardest!” A pre-show

In a concert hall in Queens, Someone sees it all…

Sorry for the delay on these folx. Pooter probz had rendered me impotent…But, thankfully, I’m raring to go again! Here are a few pix from Mark Plati and BowieNetters Stonefox and Caroline…thanx so much to all of you for giving permission to use your shots.

This show was obviously enjoyed by everybody present, including DB, who mailed me directly after the show with this: “Smashing show tonight. Managed to work in some extraneous verbal garbage on both Stalin and Simone de Beauvoir. Now that’s value for money.”

“Great spotting. Yup. It’s my old leather jacket that I’ve had since the mid-eighties.”
DB confirms Caroline’s suspicions on the MBs…the same Caroline that took this shot!

It certainly was VFM. And, it seems, David was far more chatty than even his communication to me would suggest, apparently claiming that the leather jacket he was wearing once belonged to the aforementioned French existentialist, but that she looked like a fat Patti Smith when wearing it, or words to that effect. And also that “that little shit, [Andrei] Tarkovsky, (Russian film director) could never have written a song as good as ‘Changes’.”

It all sounds like it was too much fun, and I have to admit that I’m extremely pissed at having missed this string of dates. Anyway, spilt milk ‘n all that…

Queens. I’m talking geography here…not casting aspersions on the audience you understand.

The Bronx show was the penultimate of the five New York Marathon dates, with two songs dropped from the previous night’s set. As usual, there has been a pretty good reporting of most of these New York shows on the MBs, but I’ve not managed to find anything online for these last two. Please let me know if you see anything.

Anyway, the crowd were as appreciative as ever for this gig, as evidenced in the two Mark Plati audience shots below. I’ve posted another of Mark’s pictures at the end of this piece, but before you get there, I should warn you that it’s likely to leave a lasting impression…and it certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted or those about to retire to bed for the night!
