You must see the movie…
With just over a month to go until the release of Reality and New Killer Star, you will be pleased to hear that a mix of Bring Me The Disco King will be available to be heard a little earlier. A ‘loner remix’ of the track, which was especially recorded for the film, and which features Maynard James Keenan (Tool and A Perfect Circle) & John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers) will be released on Sept 2nd as part of the Soundtrack Album for the highly anticipated film Underworld.
Underworld (in theaters September 19) reimagines Vampires as a secretive clan of modern aristocratic sophisticates whose mortal enemies are the Lycans (werewolves) a shrewd gang of street thugs who patrol the city’s underbelly. The balance of power is upset when a beautiful young Vampire and a nascent Lycan -deadly enemies for centuries- fall in love.
The music superviser for the film is Danny Lohner of NIN. He asked DB for a contribution for use in the film and David gave him Bring Me The Disco King. Danny remixed the track and worked with Maynard James Keenan and John Frusciante in the studio to create Bring Me The Disco King (Loner Remix), a radical remix which will appear both in the film and on the soundtrack album.
The official website for the soundtrack says:
Underworld, the soundtrack, is a collection of exclusive and unreleased rare tracks from some of the most influential and respected artists in the rock world today. Featuring songs you won?t hear anywhere else by the giants of the genre. This album combines the intensity of Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle) with the brilliance of David Bowie with the creativity of a score by Danny Lohner(NIN).
