Congratulations to DB on his nomination In the category for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance in the 46th annual Grammy Awards. The awards ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on February 8th 2004 and here are the nominations for the category:
New Killer Star – David Bowie
Down In The Flood – Bob Dylan
If I Could Fall In Love – Lenny Kravitz
Gravedigger – Dave Matthews
Return of Jackie and Judy – Tom Waits
This is the fourth consecutive Bowie album containing a single that has received a nomination in this category. David was also nominated for Dead Man Walking from Earthling (also nominated for the Best Alternative album in that same year), Thursday’s Child from “hours…” and Slow Burn from Heathen.
There’s also a rumour going around that David will receive a Brit nomination for Best Male. I’ve not heard anything official on this at all yet, but apparently In UK newspaper The Sun’s Bizarre column, David Bowie, Daniel Bedingfield, David Gray, Sting and Darius Danesh were mentioned as artists among those nominated in the category.
