Bowie Films Part For New Austin Chick Film

Fall into pieces…

Never happy sitting still, David Bowie filmed his part as a hard-nosed British CEO of a dotcom company on location in New York earlier this week, during the madness of The High Line Festival.

It’s a suit and tie role for David, and in it he apparently plays a bit of a hard man who eats newcomers for breakfast.

Starring Josh Hartnett and Naomie Harris, August is a film about two brothers fighting to keep their dotcom company afloat in August of 2001, a month before the 9/11 attacks, and it is directed by Austin Chick (XX/XY).

The film also stars Rip Torn, an actor who played his part in the downfall of another business entrepreneur, Thomas Jerome Newton, in a film made over thirty years ago.

August isn’t due a theatrical release until 2009, but meantime you can check out full cast list (excepting DB) over on IMDB. Click on the poster above to get to a much bigger version on the BowieNet MBs.
