If you go down to the park on Friday 17th or Saturday 18th August you may see more than the usual pigeons and squirrels lurking amongst the undergrowth! Oval House Theatre is once again using the park as the backdrop to stage a stunning large-scale open air show, created by 30 local youngsters. This year?s play is based on the story of The Labyrinth, a fairytale made famous by the movie starring David Bowie, an enchanting show for audiences of all ages.
When Sarah invokes the wicked Goblin King from the pages of her favourite storybook to come and take her annoying little brother away, she little expects that her fantasy will become reality. You are invited to follow her adventures as the Oval House Theatre team transform the park into a magical Labyrinth using masks, music, dance and drama. Will Sarah win the battle to save her baby brother from the clutches of the Goblin King? Come down and find out!
