Debbie from the Oval House Theatre’s press office sent me a little more detail after I asked how close this production was to the original film…
————————————————————————————————————-
Hi Blam – I’ve spoken to the Labyrinth team. Julia Cole, one of the directors, says that the play is totally based on the film, they’ve seen it many times. All the young people playing the main characters have seen it especially for this production too.
They’ve used the same scenes as the film, although adapted into a more theatrical manner and to suit the park, obviously. They use a lot of the songs: “Magic Dance”, “Underground” and “As The World Falls Down”. They’ve made a ‘Bog of Stench’ with whoopie cushions and sound effects, and they have a giant puppet playing Ludo. The character of Jareth is played by young actor Tristan Fynn-Aidenu.

You’ve still got a few hours to get along to today’s performances, and plenty of time to plan ahead for tomorrow. You can find all the extra information you need regarding this event in the press release.
