Gail Ann Dorsey Is Back And Onstage In New York

I’m back on the line…

Not heard much from the trouble-making (evidence above) GAD recently…but she’s been in touch with details of her new year plans, and so, over to you Gail…

———————————————————————————————————————–

Hello to the beautiful people of Bowienet! A Happy and Healthy of New Year 2009 to you all! It has been a long time, and I miss you all very much.

I am finally coming out of my moody Scorpio shell in 2009, and I am planning to get out and about a little more, so I hope that you will come out to welcome me back to the stage and back into the world.

I have been writing some lovely new songs and learning how to play the drums. Although you may probably never see me play the drums, you will be able to see me perform my solo-acoustic-electric show in your town (or a town near you) this year. I will keep you posted – – – I promise!

My website will be closing down temporarily for a much needed “refurb”, and within the next week I will finally be launching the official Gail Ann Dorsey Myspace page, where I will spend most of my time chatting, adding and subtracting friends, and posting lots and lots of “stuff” for YOU!!! Yes, the medication is working! … just kidding… In the meantime, I hope that the kind and gracious folks at Bowienet will continue to allow me to communicate with you here in a place we all know and love.

In closing, and in true Gail Ann Dorsey fashion, I am letting you know at the very last minute that I am performing a solo acoustic set at The Living Room in New York City on Wednesday, January 7th, at 7:00PM It’s my first solo performance of the year, and I would love to see my New York (and vicinity) people in the house! No cover charge, so how can you resist? There is a great band from Ireland on after me called The Guggenheim Grotto. They are well worth checking out too. Hope to see you there!

Peace and Love… Gail Ann xo

Signed Bowie Concert Poster Winner And Happy 2009

Such a shameless design(er)…

Firstly, Happy New Year to everybody reading this from everybody here…and as DB said in his holiday message, we hope you have a “peaceful but inventive” 2009.

And so on to the contest…we posted this one a few days back, (12.29.2008 NEWS: WIN BOWIE CONCERT POSTERS CO-SIGNED BY REX RAY AND DB) and, unless you’re a goldfish, you will remember that we asked for two Rex Ray designed Bowie concert posters, other than those above.

The one on the left covered these three dates: January 19th 2004 ~ Filmore Auditorium, Denver, Colorado & January 25th 2004 ~ Paramount Theatre, Seattle, Washington & January 27th 2004 ~ HP Pavilion, San Jose, California.

The one on the right was made for the June 11th 2002 BowieNet Show at The Roseland Ballroom, NYC.

That left you with the following possibilities…

October 21st 1995 ~ Shoreline Amphitheater, Mountain View, California

September 9th, 15th, 16th 1997 ~ The Warfield Theater, San Francisco, California

June 19th 2000 ~ BowieNet Show. Roseland Ballroom, NYC.

April 16th, 17th 2004 ~ Berkeley Community Theatre, Berkeley, California

Well, The Random Generator had gazillions of correct answers to choose from, but the BowieNet member that fate smiled all over today was janiedare.

Send us your name and address, janiedare, and as promised, we’ll send you your signed posters plus a couple of extra Rex Ray designed David Bowie rarities.

Stay tuned for the final part of this series of contests shortly.
