Your Chance To Paint A Bowie Album Cover

We’re painting his faces…

Following on from last year’s Sleeveface fad, (02.13.2008 NEWS: BOWIE COVERS PROVE POPULAR ON SLEEVEFACE.COM & 11.18.2008 NEWS: BOWIE QUOTATION ON SLEEVFACE BOOK) Paint My Album looks set to capture the imaginations of budding Microsoft Paint users everywhere.

Featured last week on www.NME.com, www.paintmyalbum.net already has well over a thousand contributions, but the creators of the site have ambitions way beyond that. Here’s the blurb…

Diarmuid and Anthony like redoing classic album covers using Microsoft Paint. They started on their own in Manchester, then set up a facebook group as a bit of a joke.

Now they want 2,000 covers redone by 23rd December 2009. They desperately need your help.

Send your MS Paint album covers to paintmyalbum@gmail.com and find ‘Let’s redo classic album covers using Microsoft Paint’ on facebook.

For the record, the three Bowie sleeves at the top of this piece were created by the following: Hunky Dory by Clay McCuistion from Concord, NH, The Singles Collection by Stacy James from London and Aladdin Sane by Tim Warre.

If you get one of your creations in to the gallery, let us know and we’ll feature it here. Whose going to be brave enough to attempt Diamond Dogs?
