Perhaps the strange ones in The Dome…
Danny Baker (the DB at Radio London in the headline above) has launched a radio appeal to try and get our DB to play a residency at London’s 02 Arena in September, under the snappy campaign title of: The Dame at The Dome.
Radio DJ Of The Year, Mr Baker, kicked off Tuesday’s show with Rebel Rebel and The Man Who Sold The World from A Reality Tour live CD, after launching the tongue-in-cheek campaign the previous day.
Danny has never made secret of his love of David Bowie’s work and regular listener’s to his show will be aware of all the interesting Bowie titbits he has thrown us over the years.
Not sure if you can listen to this outside of the UK, here’s a link to Tuesday’s show which has contributions from the public to expand the idea further, with suggestions such as Dine with The Dame at The Dome and The Dame at The Dome for A Dime.
Listeners are also encouraged to design posters for the event, and above, clockwise from the top left, you can see the work of Andrew Jordan, Dom Martin, Jim Wells and Len Clark. Could any of you lot improve upon those?
Thanx for the pointer to Bowie fan and occasional painter of Bowie portraits, Spizz. I’ll leave you with two of his pictures, apropos of nothing…
