“Teenage Wildlife”
We’re sure you will all want to join us in wishing many happy returns of the day to Alexandria Zahra Jones…known to her friends and family as Lexi.
You may well be wondering what the relevance of the picture accompanying this piece is. Well, it’s Lexi’s dad also at the age of 13 in 1960, already dressing up and getting in the papers and generally causing a rumpus!
He’s the manboy in the middle, flanked by a sailor (appropriately enough) and his good friend George Underwood.
They are pictured at the American Embassy in London where David was presented with American Football shoulder pads, helmet and ball.
His fascination with America was apparent from a very early age, and that interest is possibly why his daughter is enjoying her first day as a teenager in the land of the free right now.
Happy Birthday Lexi, love ‘n stuff from everybody here and no doubt anybody else who thinks your father is a jolly good egg.
