“Way back in West Berlin” *
Following today’s opening event, Gavin Evans’ The Trinity Exhibition (Bowie, Pop and Cave) opens properly tomorrow, August 14th.
It’s likely that you know more of Gavin’s Bowie pictures than you realise. See a small sample for yourself here.
Here’s the official blurb for the exhibition, which runs right through till October 30th…
David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Nick Cave – three Zeitguys that Berlin changed and changed Berlin photographed by Gavin Evans.
“British photographer Gavin Evans doesn’t just take portraits, he captures his subjects unlike anyone else.
The illustrious trinity of Bowie, Iggy and Cave put Berlin on the musical map long before techno became the reason to visit the city. It is this very trinity of remarkable artists which connect Gavin Evans to Berlin – he photographed them all.” – Mark Reeder, Music Producer/B-Movie

* Today’s lyric quotation is actually from the Iggy Pop song, Fall In Love With Me, the closing track from Iggy’s classic 1977 album, Lust For Life.
The song was co-written by Iggy Pop/David Bowie/Hunt Sales/Tony Sales. Fraction fans may like to note that that’s three quarters of Tin Machine.
Bowie, Pop and engineer Colin Thurston produced Lust for Life under the pseudonym Bewlay Bros., and it was recorded at Hansa Tonstudios, West Berlin, Germany.
