Iggy Pop Remembers Working With Bowie In The Word

I’m moved, man, I’m wigged…

The June issue of The Word magazine has a six-page cover feature and interview with Iggy Pop by Roy Wilkinson.

Inevitably, the subject gets around to David Bowie and below are just two excerpts from the piece, the first regarding the recording of Lust For Life and how easily Bowie could bash out a few classic swhen the mood took him…

If Iggy’s observations are accurate, I reckon that (using a process of elimination) the following five songs must be the ones he’s referring to: Some Weird Sin, Tonight, Success, Neighbourhood Threat and Fall In Love With Me. Not bad for five hours work!

Obviously I’m not posting all of the Bowie content here, you’ll have to buy The Word to read the rest, but I’ll leave you with Iggy’s comment on the Bowie/Pop collaborations generally and his own favourite of the songs they recorded together.
