“Under the moonlight, this serious moonlight”
We told you about this earlier in the week, Rockarchive.com, in conjunction with Photofusion, have launched a David Bowie photo exhibition in Brixton, which runs till October 26th.
The exhibition is free and open Monday – Saturday 11am-5pm (Thursday until 9pm) at Photofusion, 17a Electric Lane, Brixton SW9 8LA.
As promised, here’s another exclusive quotation from one of the photographers taking part, Janet Macoska, regarding the picture we’ve used today…
‘This 1983 shot is amongst my favourite 3 or 4 I have ever taken in 42 years of shooting. I just love the attitude of this shot, and the fact that you can’t tell it is from a live performance. I was able to give David a framed copy of this photo in 1991, when he opened for Nine Inch Nails. What a lovely gentleman he was.
About 4 to 6 weeks later, I got a letter from Switzerland in the mail. Opened it and it was a handwritten “thank you” note from David for the photograph, with apologies for his tardiness in sending the thank you!’ – Janet Macoska
We’ll be posting more pictures and photographer quotations over the coming days.
