Marc Riley Gives 2nd Chance To Win Dogs Acetate

Can’t we give ourselves one more chance…

Those of you that tuned in to Marc Riley‘s Rocket Science radio show on BBC 6 music on Saturday, (as we suggested you should do: 06.05.04 NEWS: MARC RILEY TO MAKE BOWIE ANNOUNCEMENT TODAY) will no doubt already have entered this competition. But, for those of you that missed it, here’s the low-down.

If you’d rather just listen to what you missed you can click here, forward to 01:08:30 (using the 5 minute and 15 minute forward buttons) and stop reading now. The more patient among you may want to read on.

You might remember we ran a Diamond Dogs 30th Anniversary Edition Abbey Road acetate competition back in March. (03/29/04 NEWS: WIN DIAMOND DOGS ABBEY ROAD ACETATE OF YOUR CHOICE) Well, Marc Riley has managed to wangle the same prize from the absurdly generous and all-round diamond (dog) geezer Nigel Reeve at EMI. Mr Riley announced the competition last Saturday, and this is what you have to do to have a chance of winning this second acetate.

As part of his regular Cryptic Cranium Conundrum, Marc offered the clue: David Bowie’s graveside respects – The answer to which should give you three words with a 5 2 5 letter breakdown. E-mail your answer to Marc at: rocketscience@bbc.co.uk and with your answer include the name of the track from Diamond Dogs that you would like to see on a 10″ Abbey Road acetate. Please include your name and a contact telephone number.

Those of you that listened in on Saturday will also know that Marc announced the BBC 6 music David Bowie Day on the 10th July. We will be bringing you the exclusive full schedule breakdown next week, which will hopefully include an exclusive interview with David, an exclusive broadcast of a recent A Reality Tour show and much more… If you do tune in, you may even hear a contribution from Yours Truly, with some kind of BowieNet competition.

Speaking of BowieNet competitions, all things being equal, (whatever that means) we’ll be running that signed-by-Earl Slick guitar comp next weekend.
