I wasn’t ready. I really wasn’t ready. HEDWIG & THE ANGRY INCH may well be the most important debut feature we’ll see here at the festival, or in any theater this year.
The music and lyrics by Stephen Trask are magnificent, like the best early DAVID BOWIE/Velvet Underground album never recorded. The film has a look and feel that manages to incorporate decay and sleaze, ultimately creating something really beautiful.
