The Whitney Biennial

It’s that time again. Biennial fever must be hitting New York with the Whitney show opening its doors last month. For those of us unable to visit the exhibition in real time there is the Whitney website at www.whitney.org, which although full of fantastic online gizmos is rather weak on imagery. However amongst other things, such as guided tours, you can access the Internet art which is new to the show this year. (It was the Whitney Biennial remember that recommended we embrace video art, photography and installation all those years ago when the only appendage artists were permitted by most was a paintbrush).

The one exhibit Bowieart are particularly sorry to miss is that by the mischievous Hans Haacke whose installation concern’s Giuliani’s attempts to close the Brooklyn Museum’s version of Sensation. All we can offer those not fortunate enough to be able to visit the gallery is the picture here.
