The April 2000 UK edition of GQ Magazine has a featureon their choices for the ‘50 Best Dressed Men inBritain‘.
“In one of the most exhaustive searches ever conductedwe contacted 200 prominent media celebrities and askedthem to choose the three men they think are ‘simplythe best’.
As well as soliciting nominations from GQ?s staff andcontributors we sent questionnaires to well-knownstyle sultans (Peter York, Stephen Bayley, AAGill, Robert Elms, Tara Palmer-Tompkinson, VivienneWestwood, Paul Smith etc.) as well as to dozens ofjournalists, artists, restaurateurs, fashiondesigners and celebrities (Fran Healey, Johnny Vaughn,DAVID BOWIE, Meg Matthews, Oliver Peyton, Zoe Ball,Chris Ofili, Michael Caine etc.).
We asked them to nominate the three British men theythought were the most well-dressed, awarding threepoints for their first choice, two for theirsecond, and one for their third.”
